About Meg Hourihan
Megnut.com is the weblog of Meg Hourihan. Meg is widely recognized as one of the world's leading innovators in the development, design and implementation of weblogs and blogging technology. In January, 1999 she co-founded Pyra Labs -- the company that produced Blogger and fueled the current blogging explosion. Pyra was acquired by Google in 2003.
Meg is also the co-author of We Blog: Publishing Online with Weblogs and a frequent speaker at technology conferences, including PC Forum and O'Reilly's Emerging Technologies Conference. In 2000 Meg was profiled in The New Yorker by Rebecca Mead in her article, You've Got Blog: How to put your business, your boyfriend, and your life on-line. In 2003, Meg was named a "Young Innovator Who Will Create the Future" by MIT's Technology Review magazine. PC Magazine recognized Meg as one of its 2004 People of the Year.
After ten successful years in the Internet industry, in June of 2004 Meg decided to take some time off from the Web to pursue other interests. She spent time working as a cook in a restaurant on Nantucket Island, MA and training for the 2004 New York City Marathon.
She lives in New York City with her big orange cat Bodhi and her husband Jason. Currently she is neither a chef nor an Internet entrepreneur, but something in between.
